WILL GRAVES
The Cal Deegan Series

Politics is funnier
from the inside.

Comic novels set in the Vermont Statehouse, where the stakes are low, the egos are not, and nothing works the way the civics textbook promised.

Will Graves is a pen name. That's the most you're going to get out of him on the subject — but he knows how these buildings actually work, and he finds them very funny.

About the Author

Will Graves — author photo

Will Graves. Probably.

Will Graves is a pen name.

Will is well-educated, but not smart enough to avoid politics for the better part of twenty years. Running campaigns for himself and others, he has seen just about everything. He left when his life took a different direction, which he considers either the best decision he ever made or a sign that he was finally paying attention.

A native New Englander, which means he's either funny or rude depending on which part of the country you're from. He changed his name not to protect the innocent — because nobody in any of these books is truly innocent — but so that people can enjoy the absurdity of local politics while having the illusion that their elected officials are capable of tying their own shoes.

"Not everyone in these stories is real, but just enough of them are that it should scare you a bit."

It doesn't bother Will anymore because, well, he survived.

He now writes about the world he left behind from a safe distance, with bourbon, bad coffee, and the occasional cigar. The Cal Deegan series is his attempt to make sense of all of it. It hasn't worked yet, but the books are pretty good.
